About Us

Known as the New York Epsilon Chapter, Pi Beta Phi at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has a proud history rooted in friendship, integrity, and service. Founded at RPI on November 17, 1984, our chapter has grown into a lifelong sisterhood of women who support, challenge, and celebrate one another. At the heart of New York Epsilon are Pi Beta Phi’s six core values, which guide the way we lead, learn, serve, and grow together. We strive to lead with integrity, honor and respect others, and encourage personal and intellectual growth in every sister. Through philanthropic service, we work to make a meaningful difference in our community, while sincere friendship creates the foundation for connections that last far beyond our years at RPI.Our sisterhood brings together women from diverse backgrounds, majors, interests, and experiences, creating a community where every sister is encouraged to be herself and pursue her passions. We take pride in supporting one another academically and personally, celebrating each other’s accomplishments, and creating opportunities to grow as leaders. From campus involvement and leadership to sisterhood traditions and the everyday moments we share, New York Epsilon is a place where lifelong memories and friendships are made. Our commitment to service is especially reflected in our support for Read > Lead > Achieve, Pi Beta Phi’s national philanthropy. Through our philanthropic efforts and literacy initiatives, we work to promote a lifelong love of reading and help create greater access to educational opportunities. We are proud to carry Pi Phi’s commitment to literacy into our community while making an impact both locally and beyond RPI.Whether you are a prospective new member, an alumna reconnecting with the chapter, or a parent learning more about Pi Beta Phi, we invite you to discover what makes New York Epsilon special. Our sisterhood is built on the values we share, the traditions we create, and the relationships that continue long after graduation. Once a Pi Phi, always a Pi Phi.
